ERC-7540 and asynchronous redemptions
When a request is not a fill. The standard for vaults that cannot settle immediately.

Asynchronous by design
ERC-7540 extends the vault model for deposits and redemptions that cannot settle in the same transaction. That matters for credit, RWAs, basis trades and anything gated by an off-chain event or a queue.
A request is not liquidity
Seeing a request function is not the same as receiving assets. The request can wait on a curator, a redemption window, available liquidity or a settlement agent. AltVaults labels those paths asynchronous and refuses to call them instant.
What to inspect
Look for who can fulfil or cancel a request, whether a controller address can move it, and what happens if the strategy is paused while you are in the queue.
