How to assess curator risk

Permissions, timelocks, methodology and what is simply unknown.

Discretion is the product

On a managed vault the curator chooses markets, caps and sometimes the strategy itself. That is closer to an asset-manager role than to a passive pool. AltVaults shows the role. It does not score the person, and it does not endorse them.

Signals that are not trust

Useful signals are narrow: is a methodology published, are admin keys and timelocks disclosed, is history available, is the data complete. Missing history is not a clean record. A logo is not an audit.

Concentration

One curator across many vaults is an operational dependency. If they share oracles, markets or pause keys, a single decision moves more capital than the individual vault page suggests.

Digital assets and DeFi protocols are high risk. You may lose some or all of the assets you deploy. AltVaults DeFi provides software, data and informational tools. It does not provide investment advice, recommendations, brokerage, custody, fund management or guaranteed returns.
